Quincy Woman Arrested on Drug and Theft Charges

A Quincy woman faces drug charges following her arrest Monday. West Central Illinois Task Force agents say 50 year old Christine Birkemeier was arrested after she purchased pain medication from an inspector with the task force. Agents say Birkemeier was also found in possession of pain medication without valid prescription during a search of her vehicle. Birkemeier was taken to the Adams County Jail where she is held on charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and theft under 500 dollars. West Central Illinois Task Force agents were assisted by the Quincy Police Department detective division.
