The state fire marshal rules that a weekend house fire in Quincy is suspicious.

Firefighters were called to a vacant house at 914 North 8th around 10 a.m. Sunday.

Chief Joe Henning said the fire was knocked down in a matter of minutes, but crews had trouble getting hot spots out.

Henning also noted that questions were raised based on the fact that the utilities to the home had been shut off.

An investigation by the state fire marshal Sunday determined the cause of the fire was incendiary in nature.

No one was hurt. The investigation continues.
