Quincy Police Warn of Two Scams

Quincy Police say two scams are circulating in the area.

One scam has been around before. Police warn of being contacted by an ‘agent’ from Publishers Clearinghouse stating that you have won several million dollars from that sweepstakes. The second scam involves Chase Freedom cards. In that scam… a resident reports receiving a call from someone claiming to be a representative of Chase Freedom and saying there was a problem with the card and that they were checking account numbers. Government agencies… banks and credit card companies do not call and ask you to give personal information over the phone. Also… police caution that if it sounds too good to be true… it probably is.
