Quincy Police say extra enforcement efforts targeting impaired driving were in place over the Labor Day holiday weekend.
Officers conducted 14 check points and six additional patrols. The extra enforcement yielded 51 citations for not wearing a seat belt, eleven no insurance citations and six citations for driving while suspended. Quincy Police also report one DUI arrest and a zero tolerance arrest along with several citations or warnings for other offenses. The 2017 Labor Day Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over crackdown was funded by federal highway safety funds managed through the Illinois Department of transportation.
