(QUINCY)—An internal investigation clears a Quincy Police officer in an incident at Baldwin Intermediate School involving an autistic boy. Quincy Police Chief Robert Copley wrote in the release that “it is unfortunate that the student was injured. However… it is clear that the injury was unintentional and that force used by officer Calkins was necessary to initially remove the student from Harms way and effectively control him. The incident occurred September 21st when Calkins was summoned to assist with a disruptive student. The child had climbed a seven foot partition separating a room into offices.
