Quincy Police Called for a Man With a Gun at 30th and Broadway

Quincy Police say a 54 year old man is being treated following a call late Monday morning about a man with a gun.
The incident occurred in the 30th and Broadway area. Officers arrived and found the man in a state of undress. Police say he appeared to be suffering from serious medical and mental health issues. He was taken into custody without incident. Police learned that prior to their arrival… bystanders were able to get a rifle away from the man. The police report indicates the rifle was not loaded and the man did not point it at anyone. He was taken to the Blessing Hospital emergency room for treatment. Police do not anticipate charges against the man.
