Quincy Plungers Raise Over $44,000 for Illinois Special Olympics
Special Olympics Illinois West Central/Area 11 was the big winner as a result of the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge Saturday, February 28.
Some 231 hardy souls (including KICK-FM's Michael Rose) braved the waters of Moorman Lake in Quincy and helped raise over $44,051 for Special Olympics.
Among the teams and individuals recognized at the plunge:
Team with the Most Plungers: Liberty Eagles
Youngest Plunger: Sydney Young (age 11)
Best Costumes: Mighty Plungers, Hancock County Polar Cops, Liberty Eagles
Most Money Raised/Individual: Kathy Schliser-$1,420
Most Money Raised/Team: Adams Trading Post-$14,983.50
