A Quincy man charged with stabbing his son last Father’s Day has pleaded guilty to reduced charges.

In Adams County Circuit Court Tuesday, 63 year old Jay Schroder pleaded guilty to one count each of aggravated unlawful restraint and aggravated battery. As part of a plea deal, a charge of aggravated domestic battery was dropped.

Quincy Police were called to a residence in the 1700 block of Sycamore last June 17th. They found a man identified as Schroder’s son with a puncture wound in the upper shoulder and chest area, along with a cut to the forehead. He was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Schroder is scheduled to be sentenced July 29th.
