Quincy Man Held on Indecent Solicitation Charges

A Quincy man is in custody facing indecent solicitation of a child and other charges.
Quincy Police say 48 year old Jeffrey Peters was arrested without incident around 3:30 Monday afternoon near 27th and Cherry. Police used a search warrant at Peter’s residence at 432 Evergreen Drive West. Police say the investigation started earlier this month after authorities were made aware of internet conversations between an adult and a minor under the age of 17 from Pleasant Hill Illinois. Pike County Illinois Sheriff’s deputies were also involved in the investigation. Peters is held in the Pike County Illinois Jail. He also faces charges of grooming and distribution of harmful material to a minor.
