Quincy Gas Leak

(QUINCY)-A contractor struck a gas main Wednesday afternoon prompting some evacuations in the 8th and Kentucky area in Quincy. Residents were asked to leave their homes about 2:30 p.m. after the leak was reported. Ameren Illinois spokesman Leigh Morris said that the gas didn't migrate into homes or sewers and that residents in the area were not in danger.
