Quincy Child Porn Arrest

A Quincy man is under arrest on federal child pornography charges.
Quincy Police arrested 52 year old Earl Wierschem Jr at 6 a-m Tuesday at 8th and State. Wierschem was wanted on federal warrants for possession of child pornography and receipt of child porn. Wierschem appeared in federal court in Springfield Tuesday. Police say that due to existing medical conditions and other factors… Wierschem was released on a recognizance bond pending GPS monitoring and other factors.

Police say the investigation started in 2017. A search warrant was used February 8th at Wierschem’s residence at 620 South 21st. Adams County court records indicate Wierschem had a previous child porn arrest in 2011. He plead guilty to a lesser charge of indecent solicitation of a child and received 30 months’ probation with a requirement to be listed as a registered sex offender.
