Lightly based on the Gospel According to Matthew, this heartfelt story will push you to the edge of your seats as it brings the parables of Jesus to life on stage. 'Godspell' (by Stephen Schwartz, the Grammy and Academy Award-winning composer of 'Wicked' and 'Pippin') draws from various theatrical traditions. It was—and continues to be—a groundbreaking and unique reflection of the life of Jesus with a message for today of kindness, tolerance, and love. With songs like “Prepare Ye the Way of the Lord,” “Day by Day,” and “Turn Back, O Man,” 'Godspell' is sure to be a crowd pleaser for all ages!

QCT is looking for a diverse cast (age, ethnicity) of strong singers/actors and storytellers who can showcase their personality through unique talents i.e.: playing an instrument, clowning, juggling, acrobatics, etc. Improvisational skills are a plus.

Auditionees are asked to prepare 32 bars from a song of their choice, and, If possible, are asked to accompany themselves on piano, guitar, harmonica, or even a Jews Harp! A piano accompanist will be available, so please bring sheet music if necessary. All genres of music welcome. Please do not sing from 'Godspell.'

Additionally, individuals are asked to prepare a 30 second monologue, story, or joke. Those auditioning should also familiarize themselves with the script and character descriptions, available online at 1qct.org.

All roles are available and all are welcome to audition, regardless of experience. To schedule an audition or for password information, contact the box office at (217) 222-3209.
