Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker visited western Illinois Friday to get a close-up look at area flooding.

Pritzker got a look at flooding in the Meredosia area Friday, first by helicopter and by spending time visiting with Meredosia residents.

A week ago, the governor issued an emergency declaration for 34 Illinois counties to free up state resources to help deal with the flooding.
Among the counties in the declaration were Hancock, Adams, Brown, Pike and Calhoun counties in western Illinois.

On the Missouri side, U.S. Senator Roy Blunt will be in Clarksville at 9:30 Saturday morning to survey flood damage with state and local officials at Clarksville City Hall.
