Suspect Arrested in Hannibal Death Investigation
Police report that they have arrested a Hannibal man in connection with the death of 28-year-old Jennie Jo Blankenship. The identity of the suspect has not yet been released.
Officers were dispatched to a home in the 200 block of South 9th Street to investigate a death at approximately 2:21 p.m. on August 16. According to Hannibal Police Chief Lyndell Davis, the death is being investigated as a potential homicide. "This is an isolated incident and there appears to be no risk to the community at large," said Chief Davis in a news release from the department.

The investigation by the Hannibal Police Department into the death of female identified as Jennie Jo Blankenship, 28 of Hannibal led to the arrest of a Hannibal man on Monday. On Sunday, August 16, 2015 at 2:21 PM Officers with the Hannibal Police Department were called to an address in the 200 block of South 9th Street for a death investigation. The investigation is still ongoing and no details will be released until notifications have been made and a full investigation has been properly conducted.
A criminal charge is merely an allegation and the defendant is, of course, presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
