Palmyra Man Dead After Early Morning Accident

(Palmyra, Mo)—A pickup crash at 2:30 Saturday morning  claims the life of a Palmyra man. 

The Missouri Highway Patrol reports 64 year-old Carl Ahland was traveling southbound on US 61, four miles south of Palmyra.  His pickup ran off the road on a curve and struck two highway signs.  The truck traveled back onto the roadway and overturned onto the driver’s side. 

Ahland was pronounced dead at 3:35 a.m. by acting Coroner Steve Lewis. 

Troopers say this is the 23^rd fatality of the year in the Troop B area of Northeast Missouri.
