New Speed Limit on U.S. 61 in Palmyra

PALMYRA SPEED LIMIT CHANGE

(PALMYRA)—A change in the speed limit on US 61 at Palmyra begins today. (FR) The 55 mile per hour speed limit now begins just north of the Missouri 168 interchange for southbound traffic.  The reduction was requested by the City of Palmyra and a Citizen’s Advisory Group. The reduction in speed and recent intersection improvements are designed to make turns on and off of 61 safer. Message boards will alert motorists to the change and stepped up speeding enforcement is planned.
