A Wednesday afternoon fire heavily damages a New London residence.

Fire crews were called to a home in the 400 block of West Clay at 12:34 p.m. The house was engulfed in flames as firefighters arrived. Part of the roof caved in. One nearby house sustained some heat damage to siding.

Two adults and a child lived in the house. No one was home at the time of the fire. No injuries are reported.
