NE Missouri Drug Take Back Nets Almost 400 Pounds of Meds
A recent drug takeback event in northeast Missouri nets almost 400 pounds of unused medication.
Northeast Missouri Narcotics Task Force officials say 105 pounds of unwanted medication were collected at the Hannibal Clinic… 74.5 pounds at Hannibal Regional Hospital… 83 pounds at the Canton County Market… 71.5 pounds at C and R Market in Shelbina and 50 pounds was taken in at the Monroe City Nutrition Center.
The task force in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration began providing the takebacks as an opportunity for individuals to safely dispose of medications in 2010. Since then… the Task Force has staffed 73 locations in the area and disposed of over 3300 pounds of unwanted… unneeded medication.
