Motorcycle Crash Leaves Palmyra Man Dead

A Palmyra man loses his life in a late-night motorcycle crash. The Missouri Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred around 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

Troopers say 55 year-old Paul Whitwell of Palmyra lost control of his Harley on Marion County Route D, four miles north of Philadelphia. The cycle traveled off the roadway and struck an embankment. Whitwell was thrown from the bike.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by acting Marion County Coroner Deputy Francisco.
