A teenager is facing charges for stealing cash, gift cards and silver from four churches in Crestwood and south St. Louis County.

Felony burglary, theft and property damage charges were filed Thursday against 17-year-old Zachary Witte. He is jailed on $50,000 bond and does not have a listed attorney.

Authorities say Witte broke into the churches late last month, two in Crestwood and two in unincorporated south St. Louis County.

Surveillance video recorded a vehicle that led police to Witte. Police say he confessed to breaking into other churches, too.
