Historic preservationists from around the Midwest make their way to Hannibal starting Wednesday for the annual Missouri Preservation Conference.

The conference features a number of educational sessions, networking events and a trade show.

Highlights of the conference include a luncheon Thursday, featuring keynote speaker Mary Heimer, President/Coordinator of Main Street Alabama.

Thursday night is the Legacy Awards Dinner, with awards handed out to Hannibal residents Terri and Bill Martin, Faye and Joel Dent, Pat and Bob Yapp, Jean and Scott Meyer, Nora Creason and Don Metcalf, along with the Mark Twain Museum and the Historic Hannibal Marketing Council.

The Missouri Preservation Conference runs through Friday.
