The Hannibal Area Chamber of Commerce held its 108th annual meeting and banquet Saturday night.

Among the awards and recognitions that took place was the announcement of the winner of the Pacesetter Award, handed out to an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the community.
This year’s winner was longtime local physician and community leader Dr. Phillip Foreman.

He cited growing up with a solid work ethic for his willingness to become involved in the community on a number of different levels.

He told us he has seen many positive changes in Hannibal over the years, especially downtown.

Other award recipients included Project Community Connect, chosen for the Civic Contributor Award, Hannibal Parks and Recreation, Historic Hannibal Marketing Council and the City of Hannibal, all sharing the Community Betterment Award and Emily Trevathan, who won the New Business of the Year for Twisted Juniper Yoga.
