Electric linemen from throughout the state of Missouri are headed south to help get the lights back on in Florida in the wake of Hurricane Michael.

The Missouri Public Utility Alliance announces that 47 line workers from ten different municipal utilities in the state left Wednesday morning for a staging area in Tallahassee, Florida. Among the crews headed south are linemen from Hannibal, Columbia and Macon.

Meanwhile, Missouri’s electric cooperatives have sent 123 linemen south, including a delegation from Lewis County REC in Lewistown. They will stage in Alabama until the storm passes.
