It's district semi-final week in Missouri and opening weekend for the post season in Illinois high school football.

In Missouri Class 4, the top-seeded Hannibal Pirates are home Friday night for a rematch with Moberly. The Spartans lost to Hannibal 56-22 in week seven. The Hannibal-Moberly game can be heard on KICK-FM at 6:35 p.m. Friday.

The winner of this game takes on the winner of Warrenton at Jefferson City Helias next Friday.

In Class 2, the Palmyra Panthers travel to Macon to face the unbeaten and number-one seeded Tigers. Macon's unblemished record began with a 19-7 win at Palmyra in August. The Palmyra-Macon game can be heard on Y101 at 6:35 p.m. Friday.

The winner of Friday night's matchup at Hugh Dunn Field takes on the winner of Clopton/Elsberry at Centralia next week.

Elsewhere in northeast Missouri, South Shelby is at Monroe City and Scotland County goes to Mark Twain in Class 1, and North Shelby is at SW Livingston County in the 8-man district semi-finals.

All of the western Illinois teams beginning post season play this weekend are in action Saturday afternoon, with Carrollton at Camp Point Central and Greenfield at Brown County in Class 1A, Illini West at Mendon Unity and St. Thomas More at West Hancock in Class 2A and Villa Park Willowbrook at Quincy High in Class 7A.
