The National Weather Service has posted Flood Warnings for the stretch of the Mississippi River that runs through northeast Missouri and western Illinois.

Forecasters expect the river to rise above flood stage over the weekend, with minor flooding predicted for Canton, Quincy, Hannibal, Louisiana and Clarksville.

* Flood Warning for
The Mississippi River at Canton LD20.
* from Saturday afternoon until further notice.
* At Noon Thursday the stage was 12.32 feet.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* The river will rise above flood stage by Saturday afternoon and
continue to rise near 16.9 feet by Friday morning. Additional rises
are possible thereafter.

* Flood Warning for
the Mississippi River at Quincy
* from late Sunday night until further notice.
* At 12:15 PM Thursday the stage was 14.15 feet.
* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* The river is forecast to rise above flood stage by Monday morning
and continue to rise to near 19.1 feet by Friday morning.
Additional rises are possible thereafter.

* Flood Warning for
the Mississippi River at Hannibal
* from late Saturday night until further notice.
* At 12:15 PM Thursday the stage was 14.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* The river is forecast to rise above flood stage by early Sunday
morning and continue to rise to near 18.5 feet by early Friday
morning. Additional rises are possible thereafter.

* Flood Warning for
the Mississippi River at Louisiana
* from Saturday evening until further notice.
* At 1 p.m. Thursday the stage was 13.52 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* The river is forecast to rise above flood stage by Saturday before
midnight and continue to rise to near 18.2 feet by Thursday
evening. Additional rises are possible thereafter.

* Flood Warning for
The Mississippi River at Clarksville LD24.
* from Saturday afternoon until further notice.
* At 1 p.m. Thursday the stage was 23.55 feet.
* Flood stage is 25.0 feet.
* The river will rise above flood stage by Saturday afternoon and
continue to rise near 28.9 feet by early Friday morning. Additional
rises are possible thereafter.
