Mississippi River Expected to Remain Below Flood Stage
Recent rains have the Mississippi River near technical flood stage.
At Hannibal, the river is at 15.12 early this morning. 16 feet is technical flood stage. A steady fall to around 11 feet is expected by Wednesday.
At Quincy, the Mississippi is at 14.28 with levels expected back below 12 feet by mid week. Flood stage is 17 feet.
At Canton…the Mississippi is expected to remain a couple feet below the 14 foot technical flood stage.
Down at Louisiana, the Mississippi is expected to crest tomorrow at 14.8 feet, just below the 15 foot technical flood stage.
Clarksville is also expecting a crest Friday just below the 25 foot technical flood stage with a steady decline in river levels over the next several days.
