Marion County Ambulance District to Honor Palmyra Heroes Tuesday
The Marion County Ambulance District honors two Palmyra residents for recent heroic actions that in each case saved a life.
In a press release, the ambulance district reports that on January 3rd, Jonathan Thomas saw a citizen collapse at a Palmyra business. Thomas began CPR until medical crews arrived. The patient was in the hospital a short time and is now back home with his family.
The next day, Palmyra Elementary School Nurse Gigi Lehenbauer responded when a parent collapsed in the school office. Nurse Lehenbauer used the school’s Automatic External Defibrillator and administered CPR until emergency crews arrived.
There will be an award presentation for Thomas at Mast Automotive in Palmyra at 3 p.m. Tuesday (today).
Lehenbauer’s award presentation is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Tuesday (today) at Palmyra Elementary School.
