Louisiana Police Will No Longer Handle 24/7 Emergency Dispatch
The Louisiana Police Department will no longer serve as a 24 hour emergency dispatch center, effective Thursday.
In a press release, Louisiana Police Chief April Epperson announced that the city will merge 24/7 emergency dispatch services with the new Pike County 911 Centralized Communication Center.
Beginning Thursday, Louisiana PD will still provide dispatch service from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. After hours and on weekends, calls will be forwarded to the 911 central office to be handled.
Chief Epperson asks for everyone’s patience during this transition.
