A Kahoka man who was out on bond in an assault case in Clark County has been charged with attempted murder in connection with an incident in Keokuk.

Keokuk Police report 46-year-old Michael Cassady was charged Thursday with attempted murder and two counts of willful injury.

Cassady is alleged to have assaulted a man with a knife during an altercation in Keokuk January 28. The unidentified man was stabbed and seriously injured.

Cassady had been in jail for a 2012 Clark County assault. He was out on bond when the stabbing incident occurred.

Cassady is in the Lee County, Iowa Jail, with a preliminary hearing set for February 16.
