If you're a fan of truck stops, there's reason to rejoice in Missouri as a brand new one just opened today and it's rather large and spacious.

One of my favorite trucker websites, CDL Life, shared the news today of a new destination for our many over-the-road truck driver friends in southwestern Missouri. It's a new Love's Travel Center located at 651 E. Mercer Street in Jasper, Missouri off Interstate 49 which is a frequently traveled roadway between Kansas City and Joplin.

CDL Life says it features "61 truck parking spaces, eight diesel bays, five showers, a dog park, CAT scale, laundry facilities, and adds about 80 new jobs to the area".  They also mentioned that Love's was donating $5,000 to the local Jasper, Missouri school district which is nice. Yelp confirms this stop will be open 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Correct me if I'm remembering wrong, but didn't this used to be a Phillips 66 station in Jasper? This is why I don't trust my memory.

Regardless, this is a new and fancy stop that should be convenient for my truck driving friends who drive I-49 in Missouri and are still bitter about how Buc-ee's doesn't embrace truck drivers. I feel your pain.
