The cats that greet you at Mauhaus are from the Stray Haven Pet Rescue between downtown and midtown St. Louis. Their presence at Mauhaus gets them socialization and has the benefit of placing them in front of customers that may very well develop a bond with them and welcome them to their forever home via adoption.

Mauhaus understands that some live in homes or buildings where you can't have pets, and the cat café allows for those people to have a regular place to go to spend time with and love on cats that they can’t bring home. Mauhaus recommends making reservations, because during busy times, the wait can be long. Cats get adopted every week at Mauhaus, where you’ll encounter 10-12 cats regularly.

Coffee? Yes, and tea, and they have plenty of it. Baked goods? Loads of those too. Scones, biscotti, cookies, muffins, brownies and cake that rotate in styles and flavors. But, the cats are the feature. Helping them to find forever homes and families while providing a unique place for people to enjoy beverages, baked goods and felines simultaneously.
