Investigation Leads to Arrest for Vehicle Burglaries

A months-long investigation results in an arrest by Quincy Police Friday night.

QPD had received several reports of vehicle burglaries in the Quincy area over the past few months.

A suspect in one of the burglaries, 33 year old Stephen Ballinger, was taken into custody at 7th and Sycamore about 8 p.m. Friday.

Ballinger was found in possession of methamphetamine, and allegedly confessed to 10 to 15 of the vehicle burglaries.

Ballinger is in the Adams County Jail for burglary, unlawful use of a credit or debit card and possession of meth.
