(HANNIBAL)—Actor Hal Holbrook says a desperate move to make a living years ago has become the engine of his life. The Mark Twain Boyhood Home and Museum says that’s the reaction they received from Holbrook to the news that Holbrook is the first recipient of the Mark Twain Lifetime Achievement award. The announcement of the award came Tuesday as part of the 100th Anniversary celebration of the Mark Twain Boyhood Home and Museum. Holbrook has performed as Twain since 1954. A formal presentation is planned this November when Holbrook returns to Hannibal. He is scheduled to appear in Mark Twain Tonight on November 17th at Hannibal High School.
