Downtown Hannibal begins its official Christmas celebration Saturday.
The Victorian Festival of Christmas kicks off in the Hannibal Historic District.

There will be horse and carriage rides from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with the lighting of the 30-foot Christmas tree on the grounds of the Boyhood home at 5 p.m.

The Mark Twain Boyhood Home and Museum hosts its annual Mark Twain Birthday Bash, beginning with a children’s party at 1 p.m., the exhibit and announcement of the winners of the masquerade mask competition at 2 and a mustache contest at 3.

And, in conjunction with the national observance of Small Business Saturday, many of the downtown businesses will have special deals for shoppers.

The Victorian Festival of Christmas continues with activities every Saturday through December 23rd.
