The continued high Mississippi River levels has again resulted in a change of venue for an annual Hannibal event.

The Senior Expo is normally held at the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center. But, according to Stacey Nicholas of Douglass Community Services, that will not be the case this year. Because of uncertainty about river levels and rain the forecast, the decision was made Tuesday morning to move the expo to the Hannibal American Legion building on Highway MM.

Nicholas says there will be some 86 vendors on hand, from standbys like O'Donnell Funeral Home and Beth Haven to a new boxing club in Monroe City for people with Parkinson's.

The 2019 Senior Expo is underwritten by NEILS and sponsored by Hannibal Parks and Rec, RSVP at Douglass Community Services, NECAC and the Marion and Ralls County Health Departments.

Again, because of the high river levels, Thursday’s annual Senior Expo has been moved to the American Legion Hall on Highway MM.
