The Hannibal Public Schools are considering installing metal detectors in its buildings.

At its meeting Wednesday night, the Hannibal School Board took its first look at a draft policy on metal detectors in the schools.

The draft addressed what kind of detector would be used, along with how often and under what circumstances the detectors would be used.

The draft policy will be sent to the Missouri School Board Association for feedback before the board takes action.
