Tuesday is municipal election day in the state of Missouri.

In the city of Hannibal, there is one contested race for city council, with Trisha O’Cheltree and James Godert looking to replace Kevin Knickerbocker as Ward One councilman. Knickerbocker is not running for reelection.

In the Hannibal School District, there are four candidates running for two school board seats. Ryan Rapp, who was appointed to the school board to fill an unexpired term, is joined on the ballot by Blane Mundle, Brenda Krigbaum and Justin Parker. Incumbent Dr. David Jackson is not running for reelection.

In Palmyra, Brock Fahy and Ellen Goodwin are looking to replace incumbent Jeff Merkel as city councilman in Ward One.

Voters in Palmyra will also vote on a quarter-cent sales tax for capital improvements and a half-cent sales tax to go toward transportation projects.

In the Marion County R-2 school board race, incumbents Jared Stewart and Judy Stratton are challenged by Aaron Zook.

Polls are open from 6 a.m. till 7 p.m. Tuesday.
