The Hannibal Salvation Army sets a record for its 2015 Christmas fundraising campaign.

The Salvation Army announced Monday that it raised a total of $110,000 this season, exceeding its goal by some $15,000.

Officially, the amount announced Monday was $109,589, but an anonymous donor came forward with the extra $411 to boost the total to $110,000.

The money raised in the Christmas campaign helps provide Christmas meals for area families, provides toys for kids through the Toy Town and Toys for Tots programs, along with financing Salvation Army services throughout the year.
