Even in the dead of winter, the Hannibal Parks and Recreation Department's plate is always full.

Hard core disc golfers look forward to the annual Ice Bowl Disc Golf Tournament. That happens Saturday, February 14 at Huckleberry Park. Registration starts at 9 a.m., with play beginning at 10. The cost to play is $10. It's a fundraiser for the Buddy Pack Program.

Last year's Ice Bowl was played despite the coming of ice and snow in the days prior to the tourney, and freezing rain during play.

Also on Parks & Rec's front burner is their annual Snowman Contest. Hannibal residents have until March 16 to send in a picture of their biggest, most creative, or most in keeping with Hannibal spirit creations.
