At 03:34 a.m. Tuesday morning, officers of the Hannibal Police Department responded to a burglar alarm at the BP Amoco service station at 624 Mark Twain Ave. When officers arrived they discovered the front door glass had been broken out.

Upon further investigation by officers and the business callout employee, it was determined that only cigarettes had been taken. Officers were able to get a description of the suspect from the store security video and at 04:28 a.m. located the suspect, 21-year-old Damien A. Bremmer, of Hannibal, in a hotel parking lot at 612 Mark Twain Ave. Bremmer resisted being taken into custody and officers utilized a TASER to subdue him. Bremmer was charged with Burglary 2nd Degree, 3 counts of Resisting Arrest, and an active Felony warrant for Possession of Methamphetamine out of Ohio. Bremmer was placed on a 24 hour hold in the Marion County Jail pending warrants.

A criminal charge is merely an allegation and the defendant is, of course, presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
