A coach with area  ties will be the next head coach of the Hannibal Pirates Football program.
Quentin Hamner steps into the vacancy created by the retirement of Mark St. Clair. Hamner was the head coach at Keokuk last season. His coaching career also includes
five seasons as the Clark County Indians head coach. Clark County won a Class 2 football championship under Hamner in 2008. Hamner's 2017 Staley team won the Class 5 title in 2017. Hamner's teams at Harrisonville claimed Class 3 titles in 2006 and in 2007. School officials plan a press conference with Hamner on Friday morning.
