The Hannibal Cavemen's eastern road trip began on a positive note Tuesday night with a 2-1 win at Kokomo.

Hannibal scored first, pushing across a run in the third on a single by catcher David Hayes and an RBI double by left fielder Wesley Degener.

The Jackrabbits tied the game in the fourth on singles by DH C.J. Price and first baseman Sal Taormina.

The Cavemen scored what proved to be the winning in the sixth, when right fielder Ryan Snyder singled, stole second and scored on a single by first baseman Emilio Lollio.

Hannibal starting pitcher Zach Carstens gave up one run and six hits in seven innings for the win. Tyler Yancey and Zak Wallner each pitched an inning of scoreless relief.

The win improves the Cavemen's second half record to 2-7, with an overall record of 9-25.

Hannibal takes on the Rex in Terre Haute Wednesday and Thursday nights, with the two teams meeting at Clemens Field Friday night.
