After a rocky start, the Hannibal Cavemen bullpen shut down the Kokomo Jackrabbits in a 2-1 win at Kokomo Thursday night.

Hannibal starter Michael Greene gave up two walks and a one-out single to give the Jackrabbits a 1-0 lead in the third inning. He was replaced on the mound by Conner Keating, who got the last two outs in the third.

Over the last six-and-two-third-innings, Keating, along with Ryan Furtney and Zak Wallner, limited Kokomo to no runs on two hits, striking out seven and walking no one.

Meanwhile, the Cavemen broke through in the fifth on a single by designated hitter Caleb Hicks and a walk to second baseman Joe Redburn. They both scored on a throwing error on a grounder off the bat of shortstop Shane Cooper.

The win runs Hannibal's record to 7-18 in the second half and 14-35 overall. They square off with the Jackrabbits in Kokomo again Friday night before returning home for their final home stand of the season, starting Saturday night.
