A total of nine fire department serving residents in Hancock County issue no burn advisories due to the extreme heat and lack of rainfall.

The Augusta, Bowen, Dallas Rural, LaHarpe, Tri-County, West Point and Colchester Fire Protection Districts, along with the Carthage and Hamilton Fire Departments, issued the advisory Tuesday.

A no burn advisory means that residents are asked to use extreme caution when burning, to not leave a fire unattended and to have water with them when they burn.

Late last week, officials in Pike County Missouri also issued a no burn advisory until further notice.
