The governor visited the Hannibal Children’s Center, wanting to see firsthand the challenges child care centers face during this time of COVID-19.

Children’s Center officials visited with Parson about a number of things, including the implementation of COVID precautions, serving the children of essential workers and how to move forward to full capacity.

Governor Parson also talked about his recent conversation with White House Coronavirus Task Force Coordinator Dr. Deborah Birx.

Parson said that, while Dr. Birx asked for a statewide mask mandate, he probably would not issue such an order, citing the fact that communities that have been coronavirus hot spots already have mandates in place.
