Among the participants in Wednesday's Shoeless Joe's Golf Classic in Hannibal is former St. Louis football Cardinal linebacker Eric Williams. Williams was a rookie in 1977. He was an 8th round draft choice out of USC. Williams played for the Big Red from '77 through 1981 before moving on to the Los Angeles Rams and San Diego Chargers.

Williams says offensive teammates like Jim Hart and Mel Gray would thrive under the current rules limiting contact with receivers beyond five yards.
