The former City Clerk of Center, Missouri was arrested by the Missouri State Highway Patrol Thursday morning.

A Highway Patrol spokesperson announced Tracey Ray was taken into custody as the result of an audit by State Auditor Nicole Galloway’s office.

The audit was requested by city officials in Center to look for potential fraud and mismanagement during Ray’s time as clerk.

Ray was fired as city clerk on July 3rd.

She is also the focus of an investigation in connection with a shooting incident involving Ray, Ralls County Sheriff Gerry Dinwiddie and Chief Deputy Ronald Haught, Jr. July 2nd.
