Bands, a car show and a cook-off are all taking place next weekend in Monroe City for a great cause.

Leo's for Kids is putting on a massive two-day event September 17 and 18 at the Lions Club Field In Monroe City. This event to helps to raise money to buy gift for kids for the upcoming holiday season. Admission is just $5 per family, or bring a new unwrapped toy for donation.

Music will be provided by Anthony Koester Music who will be performing on Friday from 7 pm to 11 pm, and the band Eleven performs Saturday from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm. Also, taking place will be a car show (with awards for 1st 2nd & 3rd place, best car, and best truck) a bounce house, face painting, silent auction, and more.  There will also be a cook-off with five categories for brisket, chicken, pork, ribs, and BBQ side. This is a fun way to get the family out for the day to enjoy some great food and live music and help raise funds and collect toys for children in need.
