(Quincy) – Health department officials in Adams County report the first mosquito sample to test positive for West Nile Virus in Adams County this season.
Officials advise that a bite from an infected mosquito can result in anything from no symptoms at all to mild flu-like symptoms to, in extreme cases, paralysis and death.
Precautions that can be taken to prevent mosquito bites include staying indoors when mosquitoes are most active to using insect repellent that includes DEET.
