Retailer Suddenly Bankrupt, Closing 100 Stores Including Missouri
Well, this came out of nowhere. A major apparel retailer has suddenly declared bankruptcy and announced it would close 100 stores and that includes Missouri locations although the exact number in the state is uncertain.
I saw this abrupt announcement shared by many media outlets including 24/7 Wall St, Reuters and Fox Business. The company in question is Express, Inc which owns Express, Bonobos and UpWest Express. They have many Missouri locations including one in this St. Louis area mall.
According to Fox Business, the sudden bankruptcy will result in the closure of at least 1 Missouri Express location. They are a fashion retailer that you would commonly see in many Missouri malls.
The reports say the bankruptcy will close Express store locations in 30 different states including Missouri.
As this is a developing story, it will be updated once Express announces which specific Missouri store or stores will face closure.
